The Meat Packer will be responsible for packing and preparing various cuts of meat for distribution for Baldor’s Protein division. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and pack various cuts of meat according to customer orders.
- Ensure all meat is properly labeled and packaged for distribution.
- Operate machinery and equipment to prepare meat for packaging.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Properly weighing, labeling and naming each package of meat as instructed
- Learn the names and packaging required for cuts of meat
- Work as a team member and learn the skills to work at all areas in the meat packing area.
- Adhere to company Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in butcher/meat distribution.
- Ability to read labels and record weights of product.
- Basic math skills- adding, subtracting and multiplying.
- Experience in packaging products.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently and accurately.
- Regularly lifting and moving weights of 50 lbs. or more.
- Standing or walking for long periods of time, up to 8 hours.
- Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and kneeling .
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Inventory Management system
- This position is onsite at Baldor's Warehouse.
- Cold environment with temperatures averaging between 36 – 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Fast-paced meat packing facility.
- May be exposed to loud machinery and equipment.
