Job Overview:
The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for providing a supportive and educational environment for students to succeed academically, socially, and physically. The teacher will implement an effective educational program using the designated course of study, materials, and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
- Implement best instructional practices and varied teaching methods to address student learning styles and achieve meaningful outcomes.
- Utilize technology to plan and provide instruction, facilitate student learning, and monitor progress.
- Provide individualized instruction and modifications for students with special or diverse needs.
- Establish routines and use behavior management techniques to create a positive learning climate.
- Instruct and supervise student teachers, volunteers, and paraprofessionals when assigned.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and achievement.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and evaluative skills in students through engaging lesson plans and activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Alabama teaching certificate in the assigned grade level and subject area.
- Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to develop and implement curriculum specific to student needs.
Terms of Employment:
Nine to twelve-month position in accordance with the Board's salary schedule.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated based on provisions of the State Department of Education and Baldwin County Board of Education policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
