Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Shopify Developer / Technology Manager at Ballerina Farm. The role involves managing and optimizing the Shopify platform, overseeing technology solutions, and collaborating with teams to enhance the online shopping experience.
Responsibilities
Website Management :
Oversee day-to-day management of the Shopify website
Update product listings, images, and descriptions as needed
Monitor and maintain site performance, ensuring minimal downtime
Development and Customization :
Customize Shopify themes to align with brand aesthetics and functionality needs
Implement apps and integrations to enhance functionality (e.g., email marketing, CRM, reviews, loyalty programs)
Familiarity with subscription management and inventory / order management workflows
Develop custom features using Shopify Liquid or third-party APIs
User Experience (UX) :
Optimize website navigation, load times, and mobile responsiveness
Conduct A / B testing on website elements (e.g., CTAs, layouts) to improve user experience and conversions
Proficiency in graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
SEO and Content :
Optimize site structure, metadata, and content for search engines
Collaborate with content teams to implement blogs or landing pages
Ensure product pages are optimized for SEO, including alt tags and keyword-rich descriptions
Analytics and Reporting :
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like bounce rate, cart abandonment, and conversion rates
Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights
Security and Compliance :
Regularly update the website to protect against vulnerabilities
Ensure compliance with privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA
Ensure compliance with WCAG standards
E-commerce Growth :
Implement strategies to boost sales, including upselling, cross-selling, and discounts
Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO)
Work on expanding features such as subscriptions, bundles, or gift options
Manage and test new Shopify apps that align with growth goals
Collaborate with support teams to improve overall customer satisfaction
Collaboration :
Work closely with marketing teams on campaigns, promotions, and launches
Coordinate with inventory teams to ensure accurate stock updates on the website
Continuous Improvement :
Stay updated on Shopify updates, tools, and trends
Regularly audit the site for broken links, outdated content, or errors
Qualifications
3-5 Years of experience with Shopify Development (Shopify Plus Shopify Liquid coding), App Integrations, E-Commerce Management, and Website Optimization skills; familiarity with GitHub
Experience in technology management and solution implementation
Knowledge of web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with Shopify API's for custom functionality
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Experience with SEO and digital marketing strategies, including tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and Shopify SEO apps
Background in IT, Computer Science, or related field
