The role of BIM Manager at Ballinger is to work as the leader of our BIM efforts, overseeing and guiding BIM projects and the implementation of BIM processes firm-wide, across multiple disciplines and projects. The position is part of the firm’s Digital Practice group which leads the research, development, and implementation of digital design methods at Ballinger. As BIM Manager you will be supervising BIM Coordinators and BIM Captains who work directly with and within the project teams. Position Responsibilities
- Plan, establish and grow a BIM organizational structure that supports firm productivity goals and aligns with the firm’s culture of design excellence
- Identify strategic goals and lead quality BIM project delivery.
- Meet regularly with disciplinary Revit User Groups (RUGs), obtain knowledge of Ballinger BIM practices, assess and address needs and concerns.
- Coordinate development and maintenance of firm-wide BIM standards.
- Lead and guide development, maintenance and management of discipline Revit templates.
- Develop, manage, and maintain quality discipline specific content libraries.
- Build and maintain a firm-wide template for our BIM Execution Plan
- Develop and manage the BIM execution plans for new projects.
- Manage and guide external transfer process of BIM content with clients, contractors/construction managers, and consultants.
- Lead advanced BIM processes and technologies (i.e. laser scanning, clash detection).
- Lead BIM kick-off meetings for new projects.
- Assist project teams in creating BIM models and implementing BIM firm standards and best practices at the beginning of the project.
- Direct supervisory experience for a team that coordinates and executes firm-wide BIM projects
- Define and perform quality assurance/quality control standards and reviews for BIM models.
- Assist in the development of a discipline coordination process and manage the clash detection/resolution process.
- Lead in-house training, including roll-out of new software features, script routines, collaborative processes, and implementation of firm standards.
- Conduct technical orientation for new and existing employees to communicate BIM processes, standards and productivity opportunities.
- Engage in the Marketing of firm BIM services, such as:
- Writing articles for trade publications, presenting at conferences/seminars.
- Communicating firm BIM capabilities with existing and potential clients, including interviews for new projects.
Position Requirements
- Professional degree in architecture, engineering, or digital technology
- 5 years’ experience in BIM management
- Expert in Autodesk Revit is required
- Experience working in BIM360/ACC is preferred
- Working knowledge of Revit support software, including Solibri, Navisworks Manage, and BIMLink.
- Working knowledge of current Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Scripting / Dynamo experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of A/E/C industry processes and typical design project life cycle.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, combined with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written is expected
- Understanding of design and facilities management trends, including Integrated Project Delivery, LEAN, Sustainable Design, etc.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstration of superior technical skills, attention to detail, dedication, and ownership of work
- Project architect, project management, client management, and external communication skill sets are an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

This role is based in our Philadelphia, PA headquarters with four (4) days per week on-site and a flexible, hybrid work schedule
