Summary of Duties:
An Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for the bank. This includes the responsibility for day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, corporate credit cards, and various other transactional issues. In addition, must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for accounts payable function, including the paying of incoming invoices, and other items as required.
2. Researches and reconciles payables as problems arise.
3. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/credit cards; recording entries.
4. Addressing vendor inquiries regarding invoice status, payment delays, or billing issues.
5. Adhering to company policies and procedures regarding invoice approvals, payment deadlines, and internal controls.
6. Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining the supply room.
7. Prepares checks for Tisch accounts and reconciles accounts monthly.
8. Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling books of accounts
9. Assumes additional duties as required.
Requirements:- High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree or higher education in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
- 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
- 2 years of experience using financial/accounting software packages.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a high volume of invoices within tight deadlines.
- Efficient typing speed and accuracy for entering invoice data into the system.
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow up on pending issues.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate during peak hours noise can become loud.
