Position Overview:
As an Loan Production Specialist, you will be integral to the smooth running of our bank's lending operations. Your key responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and managing the documentation required for loan processing and origination; and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and customer agreements. The role involves close collaboration with loan officers and peers to ensure accurate and timely documentation for loan origination and closing. This position is frequently called upon to assist in special projects and includes other duties as assigned.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Documentation Preparation and Review:
- Prepare and review loan documentation, including promissory notes, mortgages, security agreements, and loan agreements, for new and renewed loans.
- Ensure all documents comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance and Accuracy:
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and industry regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, ECOA).
- Monitor loan documentation to align with company policies and standards.
- Collaboration:
- Work with loan officers and peers to resolve discrepancies or missing documentation.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized, secure, and accurate records of all loan documentation.
- Processing paid off loan files, which includes releasing collateral documents.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify and address errors, omissions, or compliance issues in loan files.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve escalations.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding loan documentation status.
- Provide professional and courteous support to customers on phone calls to help resolve questions or problems.
- Loan Payment Processing:
- Review loan payments/advances and post them to loan accounts.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in loan documentation, loan processing, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in loan processing software and systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with consumer, commercial, and real estate loan documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of banking laws and regulations.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while working under pressure.
