Overview
Outlines the responsibilities of who manages the incoming and outgoing flow of goods in a shop/warehouse, including tasks like unloading trucks, verifying inventory against paperwork, packing orders for shipments, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products while adhering to company procedures and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities may Include:
- Receiving Shipments: Unloading delivery trucks, Inspecting incoming goods for damage, verifying quantities and descriptions against packing slips and Invoices, reporting any discrepancies.
- Inventory Management: Storing received metal in designated locations, updating inventory records with the stock, rotating stock to maintain freshness.
- Order Fulfillment: Picking and Packing orders based on client's requirements, creating labels for shipping if need it.Packaging for return to vendors and filing out any paperwork necessary.
- Shipping Procedures: Loading material onto delivery trucks, complete shipping documents like PO, coordinate with shipping carriers.
- Data Entry: Recording shipment detail into computer system, tracking shipment status, Returns, generate reports on Inventory levels and shipping activity.
- Quality Control: Identify and reports damaged or defective materials.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the warehouse workspace organized- yard- and clean
Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Accurate verifying Inventory and documentations is crucial.
- Physical Ability: Lifting and moving Metal and goods around, standing for Extended periods.
- Computer Skills: Using warehouse/shop- management systems to track inventory and enter any other information if needed.
- Math Skills: Calculating quantities , measurement for accurate shipping.
- Organizational Skills: Managing incoming and outgoing Materials efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Interacting with vendors, drivers, and internal departments.
