Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Sales Manager will lead our Bakery growth across the portfolio of BTN products with responsibility for meeting sales objectives. The position will build & execute semi-annual business plans that exceed the corporate sales goals with overall customer accountability for assigned region.
How the Role Will Measure Success
- Meet or exceed annual volume targets
- Total customer responsibility includes promotional planning/execution, new item launches, trade spending, and deduction management. Accountability for communication to the customer including supply chain services, customer and consumer marketing, legal, finance, etc. Meet customer expectations on sales, customer development, replenishment, merchandising and retail conditions
- Responsible for management of broker and distributor partners, including broker management, objectives and evaluation.
- Drive bakery ACV expansion through shelf expansion, new customers and new channels.
- Represent the customer perspective with the cross-functional team and ensure cross functional alignment against the business plan.
- Responsible for sales plan production and forecast objectives.
- Adopt best practices and processes where appropriate.
- Savvy Communicator with local, global, and external partners to build trust, be a change agent, take decisions, and resolve conflict as it arises.
What You Will Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5-7 years of CPG retail sales experience, including key customer management and customer penetration at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and detailed oriented bringing ideas from concept to completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver results via problem solving capability and influence
- Experience with customer IT systems platforms
- Business acumen of marketing, supply chain and financial objectives
- Ability to manage trade planning and maintain budget & spending
- Proven, successful experience selling and negotiating new products, packaging and/or new approaches both internally and externally to challenge the status quo and think differently.
- Demonstrated experience building effective relationships, communicating across multiple levels internally/externally and solid organization skills to meet business goals.
- Experience in analyzing data and developing a relevant selling story based on findings.
- Takes initiative, sets priorities, and able to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets that are relevant to both company and customer strategies.
- Ability to anticipate obstacles and develop contingency plans.
