What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Barlean's Organic Oils, LLC?
The Production Manager facilitates, monitors, and coordinates Production department activities. The position is responsible for ensuring the department is operating smoothly and customer demands are being met. The position is responsible for team leader development and training. The Production Manager must ensure the team’s goals are aligned with and representative of the company goals.
This position is Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM at our Ferndale, WA facility.
Requirements:- Ensure departmental compliance with GMPs, GDPs, Barlean’s SOPs, SQF standards, HR, and organizational policies.
- Support team development through coaching, morale-building, and performance guidance.
- Manage department workload and shift transitions to ensure continuous, efficient operations.
- Lead regular department meetings and serve as a liaison between teams and management.
- Provide support to Team Leaders, including performance reviews and corrective action administration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking of departmental goals and performance metrics.
- Coordinate cross-functional work with upstream and downstream processes.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Resolve manufacturing, quality, and maintenance issues to minimize production delays.
- Coordinate major maintenance activities within the department.
- Support customer satisfaction by ensuring internal and external needs are consistently met.
- Cover responsibilities for absent Team Leaders as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates must have three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in a Lean or Six Sigma setting is preferred. A minimum of two years of team leadership experience is also required.
