What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Barnes Aerospace, Lansing Division?
Barnes Aerospace Lansing has a challenging and rewarding job opportunity for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of duties that support shipping and receiving a variety of material and parts in and out of the facility to aid the facility in running as efficiently as possible. This position has a Tuesday through Saturday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you are an individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment this position may be of interest to you.
Core Responsibilities:
- Check, verify and record all required information on MOT, shipping and receiving documents including dimensional checks where appropriate.
- Communicates significant problems and/or deviation to responsible person with corrective action for concurrence and resolution.
- Order packaging materials.
- Ship customer gauging, tooling and fixtures.
- Package finished product and prepare shipping documents, etc. to support the flow in and out of the facility.
- Perform cycle counting and coordinate the annual Physical Inventory.
- Continually build technical skills in area of expertise which is required to aid the facility in meeting Division targets and goals
- Review shipping and receiving documents for accuracy. Reject damaged items, record shortages, and other conditions.
- Coordinate shipments with Freight Forwards/Trucking companies
- Track shipments as required to ensure delivery to customers.
- Utilizes Freight Forwards web base systems.
- Provide back up to Outside Vendor Services as needed
- Follow established procedures for packaging material.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Operate lift truck or hand truck to move, convey or hoist materials, or product.
- Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations during course of duties.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment; shipping and receiving experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Interpret travelers and work instructions
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and ERP system experience
- Ability to effectively utilize lifting devices.
Education Requirements
