Our client, a mid size law firm, is seeking a Director of Administration.
As a key member of the Firm’s Management Committee, collaborate closely with the Managing Partner and Partners to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes that shape the firm’s operations and success. Prepare agendas, financial reports, and supporting materials for Management and Partner meetings.
Supervise the firm’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, billing, and collections. Ensure the firm meets its financial objectives and maintains a strong fiscal position. Coordinate with an external CPA firm on accounting matters, partner compensation, tax returns, and annual Partner K-1s.
As a member of the Compensation Committee, provide financial and historical data to support recommendations for Partner compensation. Manage the calculations for quarterly profit distributions to Partners.
Oversee the firm’s 401(k) & Profit-Sharing retirement plan, collaborating with external advisors on investment strategies and participant education. Coordinate with the plan’s third-party administrator on plan documentation, year-end testing, and the annual tax return.
Lead the procurement and management of insurance coverage, including general liability, building, earthquake, professional liability, employment liability, and workers' compensation. Work with Firm management and insurance brokers to address risk management concerns.
Ensure the firm operates in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations that may affect the firm.
