Job Description

TITLE: REGISTRAR (HS)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, minimum 2 years of college preferred.
  • Knowledge of current office practices and procedures, computer software, and computer/office equipment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate exemplary interpersonal skills, and communicate clearly and distinctly in person and on the phone.
  • Proficient in use of technology related to job function.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience as a school registrar or with maintenance of a large number of electronic files.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff and the public.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of the English language in written and oral forms.
  • Willingness to learn new duties and technology skills as required.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated in job related tasks.

REPORTS TO: Director of Guidance

SUPERVISES: N/A

POSITION SUMMARY: Process new students into the high school as smoothly as possible and maintain accurate records for new and existing high school students. Assist staff with accurate documents and/or reports for college application processing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain student academic records in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Register new and returning high school students.
  • Provide a transcript as designated per the request of the student/parent(s).
  • Organize work flow and collaborate with parents, students and staff.
  • Organize, file, and maintain student records.
  • Maintain an orderly work area.
  • Take the initiative to provide prompt, courteous service when visitors request information or assistance.
  • Exhibit a positive and friendly attitude and project a positive image of the district to parents, students and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and information and demonstrate ethical, professional conduct.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned.

GENERAL COMMENTS: The nature of this position requires an ability to maintain confidential information and the demonstration of ethical, professional conduct at all times.
