Overview

Our long-term client relationship with KBR has led to a need for a Program Integration - Gateway, Lunar, EHP Programs on the Integrated Mission Operations Contract III (IMOC III) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

Building on more than four decades of experience in providing innovative integration solutions for government and commercial space programs, Barrios offers an extensive range of engineering, software, and related technology integration services in support of the aerospace community. As a woman-owned and operated small business, we are a people-focused company that supports professional development, while working to ensure that you maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Barrios employees actively participate in the growth of the commercial spaceflight industry through our partnerships with companies leading commercial space development, as well as successfully supporting NASA as our primary government customer. Our long history supporting Low Earth Orbit (LEO) on the International Space Station, and now Commercial LEO, lays the groundwork for future missions to the Moon through our work on Orion, Gateway, and the Space Launch System.

Responsibilities

A high-performance individual is sought for a Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) Program Integration (PI) position. The PI candidate will serve as a member of an integration team in the Flight Integration Division of FOD, responsible for providing official representation of FOD to NASA spaceflight programs' boards/panels/working groups. Candidate may represent FOD supporting the International Space Station Program (ISSP), Gateway and Lunar (GW/L) Programs, Orion Program, HTV-X, Commercial Low Earth Orbit Programs, Private Astronaut, Commercial Crew (CCP), or other programs, as assigned. This position supports FOD Management, Flight Directors, the Program Integration Branch, and IMOC III management as requested. The candidate will provide significant integration and leadership for program technical issues and actions pertinent to FOD in support of NASA's mission.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Integrate FOD evaluations of the design, ops concepts, reference missions, and support strategy for the assigned programs, ensuring that FOD “speaks with one voice” across Programs, JSC, and the Agency.
  • Identify and evaluate technical risks, problems, and their proposed solutions.
  • Assist the FOD Assistant Directors, the Astronaut Office, Flight Director Office Assistants to the Chief, and Flight Directors in the execution, conduct, and integration of FOD-led programmatic technical forums, including the leading and chairing of splinter forums to resolve and integrate specific technical issues as required by FOD.
  • Advise the assigned program's Assistant to the Chief, Flight Director Office, Astronaut Office, FOD Program CAMs, and Integration Division Management on the status of the relationship with the assigned program and of issues, problems, recommendations, and/or agreements necessary to maintain an effective relationship between FOD, Commercial Crew Offices, and the assigned programs.
  • Provide operations-related System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) and configuration management support to all facets of the assigned program's Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) team, as needed. Focus is on safety, feasibility, mission success, operability, and ensuring that the FOD and Astronaut Office viewpoints are represented.
  • Integrate overall FOD positions and responses on technical issues, assessments of proposed program changes, and actions going forth to programmatic control boards and FOD panels, including ensuring proper review at FOD flight techniques and operations forums, if topics warrant.
  • Represent FOD positions to programmatic control boards and panels and ensure FOD review and integration of program change requests through the FOD review process.
  • Integrate FOD evaluations of the design, ops concepts, reference missions, and support strategy for the assigned programs.
  • Provide operations integration activities for mission preparation/verification planning activities, such as integration of flight preparation into program schedules.
  • Build strong collaborations and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a high customer satisfaction rate. Establish and maintain excellent lines of communication between FOD and space vehicle hardware/software providers.
  • Specific duties will depend on the selected candidate's experience and skillset and must be carefully evaluated for Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) concerns with contractor (IMOC III) management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
