What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist - Construction Industry position at Barts Electric?
We have an immediate opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Pleasant Valley, MO.
Position Responsibilities
Insure vendor invoices, vehicle payments, facility payments, insurance payments and expense reimbursements are verified, approved and paid on a timely basis and that all payments are assigned to the proper general ledger code.
Duties include:
- Receive invoices, match to POs, verify for accuracy and enter in Accounts Payable system.
- Receive expense reimbursement requests, review for accuracy and approval and enter in Accounts Payable system.
- Enter loan payments in order to expense monthly and pay on a timely basis.
- Do check runs weekly and semi-monthly for job invoices, reviewing for accuracy, and submitting to Controller for final approval. Distribute as appropriate.
- Reconcile monthly accounts payable and notes payable.
- Follow up on credits due from vendors.
- Maintain permanent vendor files.
- Creating and control of lien waivers to subcontractors.
Position Qualifications
Must have previous Accounting experience. Construction Accounting experience highly desired. Degree in Accounting or Accounting classes preferred, must have high school diploma. Must be detail-oriented, accurate, dependable and able to function in a fast-paced environment with little supervision. Must be able to work under pressure and strict deadlines. Must be customer focused.
