About the position

BCSC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Business Development Department as a Project Estimator in our Wilmington, NC office. The Project Estimator plays a crucial role in assessing project requirements, evaluating costs, and preparing accurate estimates/proposals for land surveying projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with the Business Development Manager and contribute to the overall growth and success of our company.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for land surveying projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards
• Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to obtain input and ensure accuracy of estimates.
• Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to present estimates and discuss project requirements
• Attend industry networking events to develop client connections and promote BCSC
• Assist in the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFQs)
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project-related documentation for reference and audit purposes.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's or associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying or related field and/or equivalent work experience in related field
• Valid driver's license with minimum 5 years driving experience
• Proven experience as a project estimator, preferably in the land surveying or construction industry
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam is a plus
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately interpret project specifications and drawings
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate potential challenges and develop effective solutions

Pay:

• From $23 per hour, depending on experience
