Job Description
Position: Administrative Assistant to Airport Manager
Reports To: Airport Manager
Job Purpose:
Provide essential administrative support to drive the efficient daily operations of the Batesville Regional Airport, ensuring its success and effectiveness.
Supervision Received:
Works under the direction of the Airport Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors, answer phone calls, provide information, take messages, and assist with fuel orders
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, including accounts receivable, customer billing, and financial reporting
- Manage mail processing, payments, and statements using QuickBooks or POS systems
- Coordinate logistics with flight crews or passengers and relaying plans to airport lineman
- Monitor and assist with airfield security, fuel inventory, and equipment records
- Report airfield hazards or emergencies and communicate airport advisories on radio
- Assist with managing hangar leases, tenant records, and insurance compliance
- Promote with airport marketing, including social media updates and fuel price postings
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the terminal, including stocking supplies and refreshments
- Coordinate and support audits by preparing financial reports and documentation
- Assist with federal, state, and county grant paperwork and reporting
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Airport Manager
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree
- Military experience in aviation, administration, flightline operations or logistics is highly desirable and may offset the associate degree requirement based on experience level
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, type and speak fluent English language
- Aviation background and knowledge is desirable
- Strong customer service, bookkeeping, and administrative skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and POS systems
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and communicate effectively
Special Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic troubleshooting skills
- Availability of working occasional weekends for special events
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- Work primarily occurs indoors with occasional outdoor duties subject to varying weather
· Office noise is normal, but the airfield can be noisy and requires hearing protection
Selection Process:
