Supply Planner
Job Description:
The Supply Planner is a key member of the Supply Chain Planning team reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. The Supply Planner is responsible for the strategic planning of inventory to drive sales, optimize inventory turns and achieve order fill rate targets. The planner will support the Supply Chain Manager and Director of Supply Chain Planning to execute the vision and goals for the inventory planning function.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize inventory by balancing supply and demand.
- Responsible for maximizing service levels to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and ensure working capital remains within the business goals.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective stock replenishment from suppliers/production sites into warehouses.
- Responsible for the creation, alignment and execution of supply plans that ensure supply efficiency.
- Provide daily updates to internal and external stakeholders regarding supplier and open purchase order status exceptions that may result in customer stock-outs.
- Hold monthly meetings with assigned warehouse managers to address any capacity constraints.
- Manage new customer demand and customer demand shifts through the product life cycle.
- Lead and participate in internal cross-functional supply chain projects that impact service and costs.
- Review and manage key master data and supply chain parameters in ERP (MS D365).
- Identify trends and gaps by product class and make recommendations to sellers to improve selling strategies.
Cross-Functional collaboration with the product management, sales, quality, distribution, transportation and demand planning teams. - Other duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain Planning.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Inventory Management.
- Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain (S&OP/IBP planning).
- Strong working knowledge of demand planning process within the Food and Beverage industry.
- Experience in analyzing data to perform Root Cause Analysis, ROI, and Cost Benefit Analysis.
- Strong organizational skills accompanied by the flexibility to quickly adapt in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Superior analytical ability to break down complex problems into manageable pieces.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Organized with excellent follow through capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Demonstrates full proficiency and knowledge of JDA software or equivalent demand planning system, Enterprise Resource. Planning (ERP) systems (MS D365 preferred).
- Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively across the organization to accomplish strategic objectives.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, ownership, commitment and focus to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to play a key and influential role in cross-functional settings and with diverse stakeholders internally and externally.
- Ability to model the Company’s values of respect for people, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field or five years of equivalent experience in supply chain within a food ingredient or food manufacturing business with demonstrated food supplier knowledge.
