About the role, Your Impact:
Baxter and Woodman, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team in our Crystal Lake, IL office. This position is responsible for a range of Human Resources functions to support the organization's goals and ensure a positive and productive work environment. This role involves handling the full cycle recruitment process, new employee onboarding, compliance with employment laws, and training scheduling and planning assistance. The Human Resource Generalist will work closely with employees and management to address Human Resources issues, hire and train staff, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Human Resources department. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors market available candidates; and writes and places advertisements.
- Handles employment application intake.
- Prepares job postings.
- Maintains all applicant documentation.
- Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
- Processes job requisitions.
- Assists and coordinates with hiring manager(s) to determine best recruiting process for position(s).
- Acts as liaison with area employment agencies and advertising agencies.
- Assists in communication of important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, noncompete agreements).
- Coordinates background checks.
- Completes weekly report on employment activity.
- Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
- Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
- Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance and labor law posters.
- Assists the manager with HR projects.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or Behavior Sciences.
Must-haves, what you will bring:
- Ability to travel to Baxter & Woodmans regional office locations required (own transportation).
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One or more years of recruiting experience.
Compensation: The pay range for this role is $50,000-$55,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
