What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Academic Planning Specialist to assist the office of Academic Space Planning and Management in evaluating, allocating, utilizing, and managing academic affairs space according to Baylor Universities vision, mission, and goals in direct support of the strategic plan. This position will review and catalog all academic affairs space on the main campus, as well as any satellite locations and assist in producing reports. This position will collaborate with internal and external stake holders for all academic affairs renovation projects, as well as facility issues, and serve as the point of contact for relocations and furniture installations within academic affairs.
A high school diploma and five years of relevant work experience are required. A Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant work experience are preferred.

What You Will Do
- Collaborate with Baylor Facilities Management, 3rd party contractors, and academic units to monitor academic affairs construction/renovation projects in all academic buildings
- Assist with the budget allocation on Academic Affairs projects
- Collect and verify space data is assigned and coded appropriately within academic affairs
- Use data collected to assist in space reports regarding utilization and productivity in areas within Academic Affairs to make recommendations
- Collaborate with Baylor Facilities Services, 3rd party contractors, and academic units to monitor ongoing issues within academic buildings; including but not limited to deferred maintenance
- Support the Academic Affairs strategic planning taking place within the Provost office while partnering with the facilities management teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact with individual academic affairs partners for relocations and furniture installations
- Participate in regular interactions and meetings with Department Chairs, AVPs of Academic Affairs and Directors within Facilities Management
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
