What We Are Looking For
This position provides support within learning support services at Baylor University, is responsible for
providing academic guidance, developing personalized learning strategies, and fostering skills such
as time management, organization, and effective study techniques for qualifying student-athletes.
The ability to interact with a wide range of constituents including student-athletes, coaches and
athletics staff, faculty, and campus partners is essential. The ideal candidate must have prior
experience leading a learning support unit and working with students with learning disabilities from
diverse backgrounds. A Master's Degree, 4 years of relevant experience, and a Christian faith are required. A Master's
Degree and 6 years of relevant experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
What Will You Do
- Provide comprehensive leadership to the Learning Support unit through
creation/implementation of an academic support vision - Create and implement intentional processes that lead to successful implementation and
sustained success - Supervise and lead full-time and part-time team members/direct reports
- Develop and facilitate academic programming for select group of student-athletes
- Serve as a learning specialist for a caseload of students
- Serve as liaison for disability services and other entities dealing with psychoeducational
testing (e.g., sports psych, athletic medicine) - Review and asses educational documentation and testing
- Meet with prospective student-athletes and their families during the recruiting process
- Successfully engage with a wide range of constituents including student-athletes, coaches,
athletics staff and administrators, faculty and campus partners is essential - Serve on the SACE Leadership Team to provide oversight to all areas within SACE
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
