At Bayside, a healthy kids and youth ministry is vital. From the cradle to college, we believe young people aren’t just the future; they are the present.

The Family Pastor is a support position to the Lead Pastor and Bayside Church. The Family Pastor will be, in part, responsible for the leadership and execution of the vision for Bayside Kids and Bayside Youth as set forth by Bayside Church. Success is assisting with the identification, recruitment, and development of a base of volunteer leaders, connecting with the community, relationship development and discipleship, executing the weekly youth gathering and Sunday Kids Church, and maintaining communication with parents and the church.

Additionally, the Family Pastor will have freedom to use creative gifts to improve and enhance the overall health and experience of Bayside Kids and Bayside Youth. The Family Pastor serves the ministry of the Lead Pastor and is therefore directly accountable to the Lead Pastor.

We are currently looking for a part-time Family Pastor to lead Bayside Youth and Bayside Kids and help serve the church and community.

Here’s what to expect for Bayside Youth:

Lead students in 6th-12th grade to become devoted followers of Christ.

Align Bayside Youth with the greater vision and mission of our church.

Plan, organize and lead mid-week youth gatherings at the church.

Foster a culture of discipleship and community.

Present the message of Christ in a way that’s relevant, accessible and substantial to teens.

Develop and motivate students to become leaders.

Build a relational youth ministry team.

Communicate at a high level towards young people and their parents.

Design special events specifically for teens.

Provide additional weekend support during church gatherings.

Guest speak on certain Sundays*

Be a team player who collaborates with other ministries throughout the week.

*Guest speaking is not required and is dependent on current abilities, growth and development*

Here’s what to expect for Bayside Kids:

Grow campus attendance by creating and implementing a strategy that draws in families into the church through Bayside Kids.

Lead and develop teams and volunteers so that they are operating in their strengths and being most effective in their roles on the Bayside Kids team.

Create a presence of Bayside Kids ministry in the community.

Minister to the families and aid in connecting what happens on the weekend with what happens at home.

Be a model for those who attend Bayside Church by being an example of personal integrity, discipleship, and evangelism.

The Family Pastor should have the following:

Knowledge and experience in family ministry with a desire to grow.

A love for young people, a passion for discipleship and reaching the un-churched.

A strong biblical background, who agrees with Bayside’s mission, vision, and core values.

Self-motivation and an ability to work at a high level without close supervision.

Flexibility and creativity when facing changes or challenges.

Qualities important to family ministry, i.e., compassion, humor, empathy, energy, authenticity, etc.

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Strong computer skills, familiarity with social media tools and how to leverage them for ministry.

Compensation:

The Family Pastor will be expected to work 20-22 hours a week at an annual rate of $22,000 per year. Vacation days will be determined on a need basis. Sick days are undetermined and on a need basis.

The Family Pastor will work Sundays (morning gatherings), Tuesday staff meetings, 10a-12p, mid-week youth gatherings, and necessary weekly preparations for Bayside Youth and Bayside Kids.

Additional Details:

Photoshop and Creative Suite experience (not required)

Bachelor of Arts in Ministry (preferred, not required)

Previous Youth and/or Kids Ministry leadership experience (required)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 22 per week
