Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and supervision of nursing staff and nursing supervisors.
- Maintain high standards of care for all patients.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new nursing staff.
- Provide ongoing education classes to team members and other staff as needed.
- Implement new clinical procedures and educate nurses on policies/procedures.
- Present any proposed/new clinical processes/procedures to the quality management team.
- Ensure compliance with all quality indicators identified by governing bodies.
- Work collaboratively with team members to further the vision and mission of the healthcare facility.
- Ensure compliance with all infection control and environment of care regulations.
- Assist in preparing for any internal or external reviews/audits.
- Perform management responsibilities including hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, and staff productivity for the nursing staff.
- Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
- Advocate on behalf of nursing staff.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and providers.
- Assess clinical competencies upon hire and annually.
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed.
- Provide oversight of patient care operations.
- Manage nursing staff schedules and workloads.
- Complete reporting and auditing requirements in a timely manner.
- Develop short and long-term goals for the organization.
- Identify trends and implement any changes to Nursing Best Practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses.
- Licensed as a RN in Missouri.
- Current licensure by the Missouri State Boards of Nursing.
- Two years of experience working in nursing supervision.
- Applicant must be willing to become licensed in additional states, other than the state currently licensed in.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must provide evidence that incumbent is free of infectious and contagious disease, such as TB, prior to beginning employment and annually thereafter.
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
- All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
- ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
