Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting an Operations Lead Specialist –Tax Services. The Operations Lead Specialist –Tax Services is responsible for handing complex global processing, balancing, and reconciling of custody positions related to tax processing. Operations Lead Specialist will learn an understand of the regulations related to Transaction taxes in Non-US Markets, specifically Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Stamp Duty, Sales Tax and Securities Tax and will be responsible for performing daily validations and oversight of the transaction taxes debited by the Market. In addition, they are responsible for assisting the supervisor with enhancing the productivity of the unit and coordination of workflow management, training new employees, and ensuring quality control standards are met.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate intraday and end of day prioritization and reconciliation of daily work/proof and control. Help to ensure all deadlines and requirements are being met.
- Manage daily production and client reporting.
- Monitor and assist in the resolution of complex issues.
- Communicate professionally and constructively to effectively resolve issues to minimize risk and exposure.
- Assist team members with day-to-day activities/provide back-up support and training. Review and verify work of team members.
- Contribute to Division or Firm process improvement activities.
- Repair and resolve more complex discrepancies that impact client servicing in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitoring sub custodian performance - ensuring timely and accurate reporting, tax debit processing and resolution of repairs.
- Proper escalation and resolution of high exposure items and open repairs. Follow up on open inquiries.
- Assisting clients with reclaims related to transaction tax.
- Provide subject matter and technical expertise and build collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.

Desired Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
- 1 to 2 years of custody or securities processing or other industry experience.
- English skills at minimum B2 level.
- Research, analysis, and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written skills.
- Organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Proactive self-starter who is detail and goal oriented.
- Computer literate - MS Suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
