Join us as a Senior Estate Administrator
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Senior Estate Administrator to join our Trust Company. In this role you will support the Director of Estate Administration (DEA) and Senior Estate Officers to efficiently administer estates wherein a BBH Trust Company is named as the fiduciary. The Senior Estate Administrator will monitor and assist in the collection and valuation of assets, payment of expenses, preparation of documentation and information for estate and other tax returns, and distribution of estate assets to beneficiaries. The Senior Estate Administrator will be responsible for record keeping and complying with internal and external policies, procedures, and best practices.
Some of your responsibilities Include:
1. Estate Administration
- Assist with and monitor asset collection and valuations
- Process payment of expenses and maintain appropriate records
- Compile information for the preparation and filing of estate, gift, and income tax returns
- Partner with senior member of department in preparing accountings, making distributions, and settling estate
2. Relationship Management
- Interact directly with co-fiduciaries and beneficiaries
- Collaborate with outside advisors, relationship management teams, and trust officers to deliver comprehensive estate administration services
- Communicate with financial institutions and other vendors to collect assets and pay expenses
3. Systems, Policies, and Procedures
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements and standards
- Track important deadlines
- Maintain appropriate estate administrations records
- Assist DEA in developing new department checklists and organizational systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
- 5 plus years of estate administration experience required at law firm or financial institution
- Thorough understanding of the estate administration process
- Capacity to work with clients, their advisors and other BBH professionals in a collaborative and advisory role
- Ability to multitask
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Paralegal Certificate preferred

This role is based in our New York City office and will be a hybrid role, with three days in office.
Salary Range
$100k-$120k base salary annual bonus target
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
