What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Accountant position at Beacon Hill?
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a repeat client, located in Washington, D.C., in the search for a new Accounts Payable Accountant for their team. This position will be responsible for full cycle AP duties, including keying in invoice line items, assigning proper GL codes, and processing both electronic payments and physical checks. Candidates need to be comfortable with more of a manuial / paper-oriented AP process as that is the standard for this office. Experience processing expense reports and with vendor onboarding is also a plus. This is an onsite position at their office located in Washington, D.C. Essential Job Duties
Audits, reconciles, codes complex invoices and disburses payment requests submitted to the organization.
- Verifies accuracy of computations, takes proper discounts as necessary.
- Verifies that all transactions have proper approvals and proper support in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Reviews, processes, and reconciles invoices and vouchers for expenditures incurred by organization, i.e. supplies, printing, repairs, maintenance contracts, travel, etc., as assigned.
- Processes, makes journal entries, and reconciles disbursements on a daily basis, as assigned.
- Prepares special reports and projects as assigned.
- Reviews complex expense distribution, as assigned.
- Assists in training of new staff.
- Enters all vendor information for Sales & Use Tax form 1099 and assists in its preparation and reconciliation.
- Responsible for issuing invoices for miscellaneous A/R items, reconciles GL report of outstanding items on a monthly basis.
- Requires the ability to prepare voucher imports from Excel to the Accounting software.
- Adheres to all department and organizational policies and procedures.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities as related to the position and assigned by the Director of Accounting or designee.
