What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Teacher position at Bear Early Education?
FUNCTION:
We are looking for someone who holds a DEEDS certification as a assistant or lead teacher. Also, looking for someone who enjoys working infants and toddlers but is also flexible and willing to work with other ages if needed.
We are looking for an individual who can plan and implement age appropriate activities to promote social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development of each child under his/her care. Responsible for caring for the children, implementing learning and development activities, and positive discipline of the children. Maintain classroom records, cleanliness and organization of the classroom environment. Must be mentally and physically able to perform the responsibilities outlined in this job description.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice.
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
- Follow the Positive Discipline policy as set by the Administrator
- Prepare weekly lesson plans
- Complete Individual Child Assessments twice per year, Conduct Parent-Teacher conferences twice per year
- Maintain records for each child
- Maintain daily open communication with parents
- Report any incidents/accidents on appropriate forms
- Maintain confidentiality
- Report any suspected abuse/neglect to the Administrator
- Maintain a safe, healthy, clean and well-organized environment. This includes, but is not limited to, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and bleaching toys. This may also include cleaning of common areas as well as any other cleaning duties as assigned by Administrator
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled by the Administrator. Staff meetings are mandatory and time attended is paid for
- Supervise assistants, aides and volunteers in the classroom
- Keep all appropriate records such as; attendance, diaper logs, etc.
- Meet all applicable licensing regulations
- All other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
· Must be able to interact with children on the playground or in classroom, i.e. run, jump, dance, physical exercise, etc.
· Must be able to sit on the floor and stand without assistance
· Must be able to bend or stoop to interact on child’s level
· Must be able to physically and mentally react immediately in unexpected or emergency situations
