What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator position at Beaufort-Jasper EOC?
The Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements related to Family, Parent, and Community Engagement. This role provides shared oversight of family partnerships and program governance, with direct supervision of parent involvement initiatives, and community collaboration efforts, including male involvement activities, and the parents’ involvement in transition services. The PFCE Coordinator ensures the alignment of services with Head Start Performance Standards and facilitates outcomes, accountability, and parent activities for the program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and monitor Family, Parent, and Community Engagement services, including Parent Involvement and Governance activities.
- Develop and maintain systems for record-keeping, reporting, and monitoring, including timelines, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in Head Start governance meeting (e.g. Parent Committee Meetings, Policy Council, etc.) to ensure adherence to governance protocols and parent participation in governance related activities.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and analysis of Family/Parent and Community Engagement services to meet Head Start and state preschool requirements.
· Manage Parent Involvement initiatives, including male engagement initiatives and center-level parent activities.
· Track and monitor the program’s Parent Curriculum, ensuring it is delivered effectively and meets the needs of participating families.
· Guide and support Parent Committees and site-level representatives in leadership roles.
· Update and distribute Parent Resource Directory and Parent Handbook annually.
· Analyze data (e.g. Family Goal setting, Family Partnership agreements) and trends to design and optimize parent workshops that address family needs.
· Manage and track volunteer data and develop strategies to increase volunteer involvement with in the program.
· Work collaboratively with the Family Services and Early Childhood Managers to facilitate positive child/family outcomes.
· Develop, implement, and maintain partnership agreements with community agencies to support families.
· Advocate for services with health clinics, mental health providers, child protective services, schools, and other agencies.
· Maintain MOUs with community agencies to ensure resource availability for families.
· Participate in Community/Health Advisory Group and Multi-Disciplinary team meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in family services, community engagement, or a related area.
· Strong knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and state preschool regulations.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage effectively with families, staff, and community partners.
· Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
· Ability to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation.
· Leadership skills to supervise, train, and develop staff effectively.
