Administrative Assistant - Lincoln Elementary
10 month position $18.47-19.69 per hour- 8 hours/day 7:45am-4:15pm, Monday-Friday (with 30 minute duty-free unpaid lunch), Full Benefit Package
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will have a strong desire to work with and support administrative staff and enjoy frequent interaction with students and parents. The position’s main focus will be to assist in the Main Office/Attendance area.
Qualifications:
- Brings a positive attitude and energy to the front office and interacts with the public, colleagues, and students in a positive and professional manner.
- Technology literate including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office programs and Google platform.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, in a positive manner, with students, parents, administration, staff, and community members using written and oral communication techniques.
- Support building security as the first point of contact to the building by screening visitors at the door.
- Ability to work with and supervise students.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, organizational skills, and work cooperatively in a team setting.
- Ability to type with speed and accuracy (minimum of 45 wpm - technology testing may be required).
- Ability to enter and manipulate data quickly and accurately. Familiarity with databases is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to manage interruptions and multiple tasks effectively.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to file and maintain materials and records accurately.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
- Ability to provide first aid and administer medication to students when needed.
- Greet visitors, students, and staff, answer incoming telephone calls, provide appropriate information or take messages and refer to appropriate staff.
- Maintains confidentiality of information learned regarding students and their families.
- Provide general clerical assistance: word processing, report generation, copying, filing, faxing, and data entry.
All qualified candidates will be expected to: Collaborate with colleagues to improve the learning of all students; positively engage various stakeholders in the school and community; establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students. Agree to, abide by, and contribute to the collective commitments of the buildings they serve.
