What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Level 1 Watercraft Inspector position at Becker County?
POSITION: SEASONAL LEVEL 1 WATERCRAFT INSPECTOR
(Positions available at multiple locations in Becker County)
DUTIES
Watercraft inspectors interview boaters and perform watercraft inspections at public lake access sites in Becker County. Inspectors explain AIS prevention practices and record surveys on a tablet device. Inspectors are required to understand laws related to AIS prevention and communicate in a professional manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1) Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
2) Must have reliable transportation.
3) Must perform physical tasks including standing, and kneeling outdoors in varied weather conditions.
4) Must be able to use a tablet device to record data.
5) Must complete an online training session and additional training as specified
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1) Knowledge about aquatic invasive species in Minnesota.
2) Knowledge about different types of watercraft and water-based recreation.
3) Experience in a customer service setting.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Anticipated season dates are May-September, with the possibility to continue through October. 16 - 40 hours per week, mostly weekends (required) and some midweek hours.
All employees are limited to a maximum of 67 working days per year.
