The Genomics Sales Representative is responsible for sales and distribution of Beckman Coulter's “SPRI” paramagnetic bead technology-based nucleic acid extraction/purification reagents along with the newest addition to our line of automated Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) library construction instruments, the Biomek NGeniuS.
This position reports to the North American Genomics Sales Manager and is part of the Beckman Coulter Life Sciences organization. The individual selected for this role will be based in the Houston, TX area working remotely to cover the states of TX, NM, CO, AR, AZ, MS, OK, LA and KS.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Nurture relationships within the existing client base to provide ongoing customer service and expand revenue streams
- Actively create new business opportunities
- Develop and manage a sales plan and strategy for assigned accounts
- Manage and maintaining accurate sales forecasts based on territory quota, and
- Effectively communicate with internal support teams to drive business.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Science or related field with 2 years’ relevant work experience OR a Master’s degree in the field
- Individuals with successful consumable and/or capital equipment sales experience (as determined by quota attainment) within the Life Sciences research sector are highly preferable
- The ability to understand the science behind our products and basic laboratory experience is preferred.
- Individual should be based in the territory, ideally in the Houston, Texas area, and have current experience selling to academic and industry accounts in that locale
- Highly organized individuals who demonstrate a significant capacity to network and collaborate, communicate effectively, work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage work time efficiently will be given special consideration
- Ability to travel up to 50% both within the sales territory and, occasionally, to corporate HQ
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), synthetic biology and/or gene editing sales or labwork
