Invites applications for the position of:
K-2 Before School EL Literacy Interventionist
(up to 4 positions for 6-week cycle)
Responsibilities:
Instruction and Curriculum
Provide literacy support/intervention to English Learner students during a before-school intervention program; four 30 minute teaching segments and one hour prep per week for a 6-week cycle.
In small groups and/or one-on-one, provide evidence-based instruction in elements of reading, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
Plan lessons that, to the extent possible, meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students in intervention groups.
Use informal and formal assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses. Set learning goals for students and monitor their progress.
Other Duties
Maintain records and reports with diligence, as necessary, to ensure the success of the before-school literacy program.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and MA Teaching License
Experience in a school or equivalent environment
Current knowledge of evidence-based practices in the areas of literacy development, literacy instruction, and assessment
Experience collaborating with teachers and school staff
Excellent interpersonal skills and flexible, responsive work style
Successful completion of a CORI/SORI and national background check (fingerprinting).
