What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Safety Manager position at Bee Sweet Citrus?
Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is seeking an organized, energetic, and highly motivated individual to help manage Bee Sweet’s Food Safety Program. This position is partially responsible for the overall implementation and daily management of the Food Safety Program, as well as developing, implementing, and enforcing food safety policies, standards, and programs. This position oversees product inspections, regulatory audits, and standard operating procedures and reports to the VP.

Responsibilities and job duties include but are not limited to
- Obtain exemplary scores on annual food safety audits
- Responsible for coordination and oversight of the inspection of food processing areas to ensure compliance with regulations, food safety laws, agricultural standards for sanitation, safety (OSHA), quality, and waste management standards
- Enforce good manufacturing practices that include, but are not limited to the following: sanitation, pest control, security, and safety
- Train and effectively communicate food safety policies to all company employees
- Help manage sanitation of the facility
- Maintain inventory of supplies while managing cost
- Conduct packing house inspections and audits as assigned
- Maintain an accurate database of findings on audits until non-compliances have been resolved
- Supervision of entire department including cost, inventory, and personnel
- CTPAT and other related compliance
Skill and Technical Knowledge

- Ability to readily adapt to changing requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA HAACP, GFSI, SQF and SSOP requirements
- Strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level of quality at all times
- Ability to manage individual workflow effectively and improve processes when necessary
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers both written and verbally
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Bi-lingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

- Ability to work in a hot, cold and/or wet environment up to 98% of the time on the job
- Ability to walk, sit, stand and use hands to finger dexterity, handle or feel objects
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a food processing facility
- Bachelor’s degree required
- HAACP and other relevant certifications
- Experience with Food Safety regulations; import regulations a plus
- Supervisory experience
- Willingness to occasionally work weekends and non-business hours as the team requires
