What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Innovation-Hub, Americas (Engineering) position at Belimo Americas?
JOB SUMMARY
The Head of I-Hub Americas is part of the global R&D of Belimo and leads the growing engineering teams in the Americas (USA & Canada).
The Head of Innovation Hub Americas has 3 areas of responsibility:
Full responsibility for all regional product development and related life cycle activities
Full responsibility for engineering services to be delivered to the global R&D organization
Full responsibility for the development of Gas Sensors in Montreal, Canada
In these areas the Head of I-Hub Americas needs to develop and to expand the team and competencies, as well as to serve internal customers in Americas and globally.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Head of I-Hub Americas is an extended member of the Americas Leadership Team. The position reports solid line to the Head of R&D Hubs in Switzerland and dotted line to the President, Belimo Americas. The role bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Build up the R&D team in Americas according to the global strategy
Lead technical teams and resources > 30 people
Coach and mentor direct and indirect team members
Manage annual engineering budget of several millions USD
Be the interface to the regional product management for regional engineering activities
Oversee the execution of the regional product life cycle
Ensure that all engineering activities follow Belimo processes and standards
Implement measures and establish activities to improve the productivity of the teams
Build up partners for engineering services
Support procurement for suppliers based in the Americas
REQUIREMENTS
Core Competencies:
Proven track of building-up a technical team
Experience in design for manufacturability, assembly and configuration
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to work in a global, cross-cultural environment
Able to apply innovative, creative thinking combined with keen decision-making capabilities
Strong team work ethic and the ability to work autonomously with initiative and urgency
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Software) from an accredited institution required. Master of Science preferred.
Must have 10+ years of engineering development experience in addition to 5+ years of leadership experience.
Willing to travel up to 10%
Salary : $160,000 - $175,000
