Job Summary:
This position is responsible for payroll processing and maintaining employee records regarding pay and benefits within the ADP system. This position will also support various functions within the Accounting department. The responsibilities of this position require a high level of confidentiality be maintained at all times.
Primary Duties:
Payroll Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate payroll records by collecting and entering data into ADP.
- Process new hires, terminations, and changes for current employees in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Payroll and Human Resources teams to ensure issues are resolved.
- Monitor employee time cards in ADP to ensure they are reasonable and approved by a supervisor prior to processing.
- Ensure timely processing of all payroll and related payments.
- Maintain life and disability insurance records for salary adjustments and new or terminated employees.
- Balance vendor billings for health insurance, flexible benefits, United Way, life and disability insurance, and voluntary insurance.
- Maintain knowledge of current payroll tax and deduction laws.
- Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax reports.
- Run core payroll reports and write custom reports as needed for management, Human Resources, and auditors.
- Assist employees with questions regarding payroll and ADP system. Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Identify areas for process improvement to gain efficiencies using systems or data.
- Update and maintain procedures.
Accounting Functions
- Assist Accounting team with various tasks, including special projects and covering absences.
- Backup to reconcile daily specific GL accounts.
- Backup to reconcile monthly accounts.
- Review report of invoices and expense reports daily, mail checks and approve ACH files.
- Monitor invoice inbox and send electronic invoices to the Concur Invoice system.

Job Skills Required:
- Two-year degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- Two or more years of professional payroll experience is required.
- Candidate with the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
- Experience with ADP or another payroll processing system is preferred.
- Strong overall computer and technical software skills, with an ability to independently research resolution to issues.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet specific deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while working with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
