What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anticipated Assistant Principal & Equity Coordinator - BFUHS position at Bellows Falls Union High School?
Bellows Falls Union High School (BFUHS) is part of the Windham Northeast Supervisory Union and serves approximately 300 9th-12th grade students in rural southeast Vermont. BFUHS’s next Assistant Principal & Equity Coordinator should have a track record of nurturing equitable learning communities and will work with students, staff, faculty, caregivers, and the larger community to implement innovative programs that support individualized learning, ensure equitable outcomes for all students, and support a high standard of academic excellence. In addition to supporting the curricular needs of the community, including supervision and evaluation, the Assistant Principal will support the following:
●Serve as Building 504 Coordinator & primary 504 case manager for the high school
●Serve as primary point for student CARE & discipline matters and support with HHB & Title IX investigations as requested by Principal and / or SU staff
●Support with design and delivery of co-curricular programming, including Terrier Time & Advisory
●Serve on various building committees, including Freshman Academy & CARES team
●Support day to day operations of building including student supervision, subbing, emergency operations and afterhours / weekend support of co-curricular programming
Ideal candidates will have the following experience and expertise:
●Teaching & Administrative experience at the secondary level & familiarity with proficiency based models
●Strong experience with trauma informed practices
●Demonstrated background and success with implementing restorative practices
●Experience with MTSS at the secondary level
Professional Qualification Requirements:
- Vermont Licensure as Principal is required (or licensable in Administration in Vermont)
- Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
12-month Administrative Position
