The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in managing the daily operations of the school, ensuring a safe learning environment, fostering academic success, and overseeing student discipline, staff development, and school activities.Key Responsibilities: Administrative Leadership: - Assist in developing and implementing school policies and procedures. - Ensure compliance with state and district regulations.Student Discipline, Attendance/Truancy, & Behavior Management: - Enforce school expectations/district policies, and disciplinary procedures. - Address student behavior issues and work with counselors, teachers, and parents to provide support. - Oversee attendance and truancy interventions, working with families and local agencies to improve student attendance.
- Promote a positive school culture and implement programs to reduce disciplinary incidents.Instructional Leadership & Teacher Support: - Assist in evaluating and mentoring teachers to improve instructional effectiveness. - Support curriculum development and professional development initiatives. - Monitor classroom instruction and provide feedback to teachers.Student Support & Engagement: - Address student concerns related to academics, attendance, and well-being. - Encourage parent and community involvement in school activities.
- Actively participate in and chaperone student events, including dances, sports games, and school-sponsored activities.Safety & School Climate: - In conjunction with the Building Principal and School Resource Officer, ensure the safety and security of students and staff. - Collaborate on emergency preparedness plans and oversee safety drills.Community & Stakeholder Relations: - Maintain positive relationships with parents, students, and community members. - Communicate school goals and initiatives effectively.Qualifications & Skills: - Education: Masters degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field. - Certification: Valid NH ED administrative certification.Experience: A minimum of 5 years teaching experience required, high school teaching experience preferred; prior leadership experience preferred.Skills: - Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
