POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science position to begin August 2025. The candidate should have a Ph.D. or master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field. The beautiful campus of Benedictine College is situated in picturesque Atchison, KS on the bluffs above the Missouri River. Atchison is within an hour drive of major cities such as Kansas City, Saint Joseph, Lawrence, and Topeka as well as 40 minutes from the Kansas City International Airport. Benedictine College has a full-time undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2200 students and is a mission-centered academic community. Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential function is to teach courses in computer science. A typical course load is 12 credit hours per semester. Courses vary in number of credit hours, but the teaching load typically requires teaching 3-4 courses per semester. Preference will be given to candidates who are committed to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment and to engaging undergraduate students in research. Additional responsibilities include engagement in and service to the department, college, and community. The candidate should expect to remain active in scholarship and hold broad teaching interests.
