Description
We are seeking a driven and passionate theatre instructor to teach beginner group classes to children. This role will focus on creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment while fostering a love for theatre in new students and facilitating growth in experienced students. Under direct supervision, the theatre instructor will plan lessons, organize performances, and collaborate with other staff to enhance community engagement through theatre. DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement progressive theatre lesson plans with a clear goal in mind.
- Create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment that cultivates growth and creativity.
- Teach theatre techniques that are appropriate for age and skill level and ensure activities are accessible for all students.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and supervisor.
- Collaborate with other team members to build and expand the theatre programming.
- Attend team meetings and trainings to continuously improve personal teaching practices.
- Participate in theatre events such as parties, festivals, and showcases.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in theatre education.
- Strong background in various theatre styles.
- Working knowledge of group and individual teaching strategies.
- Professional and motivated attitude with the ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
- Willingness to lead students by example including, but not limited to punctuality, dress, and demonstration of techniques.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.

SALARY $15.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience
HOURS 5-10 hours per week including evenings and weekends
