    Location: Bensenville District 2 Elementary School District
    Position Type: 12 month Administrative
    Salary: $140,000-$165,000 (Based on experience and qualifications)
    Start Date: July 1, 2025

    Position Overview:

    The Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning plays a pivotal role in shaping the vision and implementation of instructional programs that promote excellence and equity for all students. This leadership position will oversee the district’s curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning district-wide.

    Working collaboratively with district leadership, principals, and educators, the Assistant Superintendent ensures the highest standards of academic achievement and equitable access for all students. with a strong focus on Dual Language and English Learner (EL) students.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and instructional strategies for all grade levels.
    • Collaborate with principals and teachers to ensure effective and consistent instructional practices across the district, including strategies that support Dual Language and EL students.
    • Design and lead professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness and student growth.
    • Analyze student achievement data to identify trends, inform decisions, and drive instructional improvements.
    • Develop and implement strategies to ensure equitable access to high-quality education for all students.
    • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that instructional strategies and programming align with the district's vision and goals.
    • Support and guide principals in evaluating and enhancing instructional practices .
    • Lead the development of district-wide assessments to ensure alignment with curriculum standards.
    • Stay current on educational research and best practices, especially in Dual Language and EL education, integrating them into district curriculum and instruction.
    • Advise the Superintendent on instructional priorities and policies.
    Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction or a related field.
    • Illinois Administrative License required; Bilingual/EL license preferred.
    • Experience in K-8 education, including classroom teaching and leadership roles.
      Proven expertise in curriculum design, instructional leadership, and professional development.
      Strong knowledge of current educational research and best practices, in elementary education.
      Ability to analyze, interpret, and make data driven decisions to inform instructional improvements.
      Excellent communication,collaboration, and organizational skills.
      Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build positive relationships with staff, students, and the community.
    Physical Demands:
    • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively with district employees and vendors.
    • Capability to apply critical thinking to address problems using written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
    • The job requires regular use of hands, walking, talking, hearing, and the ability to operate office equipment.
    • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are essential.
    • Occasional lifting, pulling, or pushing of items up to 20 pounds may be required.
    • Reasonable accommodations may be provided to individuals with disabilities to enable performance of essential duties.
