Job Summary:
The Operations Finance Controller will manage and support all plant activities involving financial reporting, cash management, and AOP. This position will provide accurate plant financial and statistical data for leadership to make timely and informed decisions and will partner with various corporate functions. This position reports directly to the Operations Finance Director.
Responsibilities:
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Assists upper leadership to drive the annual budget process including planning, forecasting, as well as variance analysis
- Develops, maintains, and analyzes forecasts and budgets, preparing reports which compare actual costs to forecasted/budgeted costs
- Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational KPIs
- Provides proactive consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
- Collaborates with Site Leadership to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis
- Responsible for departmental expense reviews and product standard cost responsibilities
- Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets and identify risks
- Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Inventory Management:
- Drive inventory efficiency through reporting and process control / improvement to increase cash flow
- Develop, implement, and validate procedures, controls, and systems that detect, correct, and prevent errors in inventory transactions and balances
- Help design and implement / update ABC cycle count processes throughout Vertelllus
- Support supply chain and operations teams in future inventory initiatives

- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

Qualifications/Desired Skills:
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA/CMA experience preferred
Experience:
- 3 years related Accounting or Finance experience
- Manufacturing or chemical industry experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and execute basic accounting functions and identify process improvements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
- Displayed high levels of flexibility and adaptability
- Displayed bias for action and ability to complete projects
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.,
- Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work within a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities allow assessments of situations and opportunities
