Summary:
The Commercial Real Estate Finance Analyst program provides recent college graduates or candidates changing careers with exposure to commercial mortgage banking.
This program enhances and further develops analysts’ skills by providing hands on opportunities to work with industry experts, deliver results, think strategically, and gain relevant expertise in commercial real estate.
Analysts will spend 4 months with Agency Conventional Analytics, 4 months with Affordable Analytics and 4 months with Underwriting. Additional exposure to Capital Markets, Asset Management & Servicing, and Enterprise Community Partners will be provided.
Successful completion of the 12-month intensive program will provide candidates with the foundation necessary to succeed in mortgage banking and provide exposure to a variety of career paths and opportunities within the growing BWE platform.
Major Responsibilities:
Gain an understanding of evaluating a new multifamily loan opportunities.
Learn fundamentals of sponsor mortgage credit reviews.
Gain an understanding of the secondary markets and Agency MBS structures.
Understand the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac process for conventional and affordable loans from client prospecting, analyzing transactions, and quoting through closing.
Achieve an understanding of conventional and affordable multifamily debt sizing and underwriting.
Gain an understanding of available capital sources for different asset classes including multifamily, seniors, students, and MHC.
Minimum Requirements:
(experience, education, etc.)
Experience in the financial analysis (cash flow modeling, market, property, and borrower analysis) of multifamily and other income properties is beneficial.
Academic experience in the financial analysis of income properties is beneficial.
Commercial real estate experience is a plus.
Bachelor's degree required with a major in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
Possess computer literacy and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including developing complex financial models), Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Self-motivated with the ability to operate effectively in a team environment as well as able to work independently.
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly attentive to detail and accuracy.
