Position Summary | The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for facilitating the execution of the site continuous improvement strategy delivering long-term, breakthrough results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Success is measured by this individual’s ability to actively engage teams to achieve tangible, sustainable results and to educate and enroll others in the mindset of continuous improvement. |
Duties and Responsibilities | - Facilitate cross-functional teams in structured problem-solving activity
- Teach and coach teams on structured problem-solving technique, to include root cause analysis
- Assist in establishing project scope and goals, resource requirements and a list of deliverables as required
- Maintain a CI portfolio of all projects and programs across the Sharp Sterile Manufacturing business
- Lead, implement and teach lean/Six Sigma tools including, but not limited to, 5S, kaizen events, value stream mapping, SMED, visual management techniques, metrics and KPIs, standard work, 7/8 Wastes, analysis of variance (ANOVA), control charts, DMAIC, etc.
- Develop new and/or revised business processes throughout the site
- Develop process enhancement strategies
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction
- Communicate ideas and opinions to members of management
- Train, mentor, and guide team members in continuous improvement
- Stay up-to-date with developments in management and process optimization
- Other duties as assigned

Regulatory Responsibilities | - Understanding of cGMP, 21 CFR 210/211 and regulatory agency requirements which apply to quality operations and compliance
- Conduct business in a responsible manner that complies with all state, OSHA and Federal regulations

Supervisory Responsibilities | - Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Influence members across multiple functions of the organization
- Ability to work with multiple different groups on continuous improvement projects.

Experience | - Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Operations/Operational Excellence roles applying various Lean principles (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, etc.) across multiple functional areas within an organization
- Lean experience desired
- Lean/Six Sigma Green belt certification preferred

Education | - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or scientific discipline
- Strong preference for experience supporting manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry
