BSI is one of the largest skin laser centers in the world, with over 50 lasers on site, and many other non-laser devices for skin and hair conditions, such as 4 ARTAS robots for hair transplant.
Medical Patient Collections Specialist Job Description
Medical Patient Collection Specialists are responsible for all functions related to the collection of payment on patient accounts. Duties are generally assigned on a primary basis, but all personnel are cross-trained and may perform functions in the various business segments.
Pay Range: 26.00/hr to 29.00/hr
Hours: 10am-6:30pm
Primary Responsibilities
- Possess excellent communication with patients regarding their financial responsibilities for services performed at BSI.
- Accurately keep patient accounts up to date by documenting all calls in a timely and prompt manner in the billing system.
- Stay informed and act confidently in understanding eligibility results to assist patients effectively.
- Create flexible and supportive payment plans that align with company guidelines.
- Take charge of managing self-pay accounts, keeping them current, and reporting their status to management.
- Lend a hand with other billing and collections tasks as needed, staying adaptable and efficient.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical collections.
- Solid understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and denial codes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Familiarity with Nextech is a bonus!
- Dynamic customer service skills, with a focus on a positive patient experience.
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable navigating technology.
