What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aftercare Teacher position at Best Brains Learning Center?
Overview
Best Brains at Ashburn, VA is looking for enthusiastic part-time Aftercare teachers. Teachers must be state-certified or have a teaching certificate to apply.
The ideal candidate is
- Comfortable working with children aged 3-14 years
- Proficient in Math and English curriculum (Elementary & Middle school)
- Able to multitask and work with up to 5-8 students at a time
- Available Mondays to Friday evenings after school
- Has a degree in teaching or similar
- Experience in childcare or preschool settings is highly desirable.
- Punctual and organized
Primary duties are
- Pick up kids from a nearby Bus stop (<0.1m away)
- Creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students
- Teaching/ providing instruction to the students
- Assess student progress and provide timely written feedback on assignments
- Meeting with parents and discussing their child's progress from time to time
- Engage students with games and activities
- Providing academic support and homework assistance to students as needed
- Minimal grading
- Ensuring the safety, security, and holistic wellbeing of each student
- Keep the classroom safe and clean
There is no need to develop lesson plans. A comprehensive curriculum and teaching materials will be provided.
We offer consistent hours and competitive pay. You must be available for the following days and times:
- Mondays to Fridays 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.09 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
