Dental Front Office / Assistant Office Manager
Location: Best Smiles – Staples Mill, Richmond, VA

At Best Smiles Staples Mill, you’ll be more than just a Dental Front Office — you’ll play a key role in shaping the patient experience and supporting the daily operations of a growing, multi-location dental practice. We’re seeking an enthusiastic and organized Dental Front Office with Assistant Office Manager responsibilities to join our team at our Staples Mill location.

Full-Time Position with Benefits

Core Responsibilities:

Front Office Duties:

  • Greet and check in patients with a warm, professional attitude
  • Answer and manage phone calls following office protocols
  • Schedule appointments and maintain daily flow
  • Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing questions
  • Present and coordinate treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records using Open Dental

Assistant Office Manager Duties:

  • Support daily operations and ensure front office efficiency
  • Assist with financial duties such as accounts receivable and reporting
  • Help manage staff scheduling and assist with onboarding new team members
  • Act as a communication bridge between front desk, clinical team, and management
  • Monitor supplies, coordinate vendor relations, and support inventory needs
  • Step in for Office Manager when needed

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 1 year of dental office experience required
  • Open Dental experience is a strong plus
  • Prior experience with leadership or office coordination is preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Tech-savvy and confident using practice management software
  • Positive attitude and team-first mindset
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
