Field Technician

The field technician position is a travel position 99% of the time to multiple locations across the nation. Field technicians respond to routine and non-routine customer service calls, scheduled preventive maintenance. Field technicians are expected to have solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems of malfunctioning equipment. Technicians will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems. Upon completion, accurate and detailed service reports will be submitted. This is a low voltage technical position that may also require basic networking and computer skills. Experience with multimeters, wiring, and ESD device handling is a must. Field technicians will also install and assist installation projects for various systems including access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, intercoms, and lift-arm gates. Field technicians must be able to pass an E-Verify Check and be able to obtain a Security Clearance.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Install and maintain multiple types of access control systems.
• Have an understanding and the ability to troubleshoot low voltage systems, networks, and computers.
• Have solid computer & typing skills and can use Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Excel, & Word.
• Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently as well as in group settings.
• Have experience using electronic test equipment.
• Can use hand tools and small power tools.
• Have good verbal and written communications skills.
• Can read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions as well as update and create.
• Install components, units and printed electronic boards following specifications.
• Must be able and willing to travel.
• We do provide on the job training and acquire any needed certifications for field technicians.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years, trade school or equivalent experience
• Associate degree or higher preferably in low voltage systems
• 3 years’ Experience required
• The ability to learn, troubleshoot, communicate, and be on time
• Team player, and have a driven personality
• Certifications in the technology industry is a plus
• Low level electrical license is a plus
• Must be able to travel for long periods of time
• Must be able to pass a E-Verify Check, and be able to obtain a Security Clearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.51 - $23.50 per hour
