What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Department Director position at Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center?
- A graduate of an approved school of nursing.
, Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or three (3) years' experience in long term care;
Current licensure in NYS as a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse;
Minimum three (3) years' experience in a supervisory capacity either in a hospital, long term care facility, or other related medical facility; Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practice;
Must have a sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled;
Must have a thorough knowledge of medical, social, and psychological needs of residents;
Must utilize good judgment in emergency situations;
Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm in order to create an atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation and growth;
Must be able to communicate well verbally with residents, families, and staff;
Must be able to handle emergencies with calm and intelligent response;
Must have computer literacy;
