Position Summary:
Better Life Adult Living is seeking a proactive, self-motivated, and highly accountable House Manager to oversee the daily operations of our supportive living home. The House Manager will ensure the highest standard of care for residents, manage household staff, and maintain compliance with Developmental Disabilities Waiver (DD Waiver) Service Standards. This role requires strong leadership, initiative, and a hands-on approach, as well as the ability to fill shifts when needed. Availability for weekends and 24/7 on-call support is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:Resident Care & Support Services
- Ensure all residents receive person-centered care in alignment with their Individual Service Plans (ISP).
- Support daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and housekeeping.
- Promote independence, dignity, and respect while ensuring resident safety and well-being.
- Encourage community involvement and engagement in activities that support residents’ personal development.
- Coordinate and attend medical appointments for residents.
Staff Management & Scheduling
- Hire, train, and supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and other household staff.
- Ensure 24/7 staff coverage, including scheduling and shift adjustments as needed.
- Work weekends and fill shifts when necessary, ensuring continuous resident care.
- Provide on-call support for emergencies and unexpected staffing gaps.
- Conduct staff performance evaluations, training, and ongoing development.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with DD Waiver standards, Medicaid, and Better Life Adult Living policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, medication logs, and progress notes.
- Implement and oversee emergency preparedness and risk management plans.
- Conduct routine inspections to uphold health, safety, and licensing standards.
Home Management & Maintenance
- Oversee the cleanliness, organization, and overall maintenance of the residence.
- Ensure compliance with HCBS settings requirements.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and home safety checks.
- Maintain an inventory of household supplies and personal care items.
Financial & Administrative Duties
- Manage household budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Oversee payroll processing and staff scheduling compliance.
- Ensure proper Medicaid billing and documentation for service compliance.
- Work with Case Managers, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams (IDT) to support residents’ needs.

Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supportive living or group home setting.
- Supervisory experience in a residential or healthcare environment.
- Ability to work weekends and provide 24/7 on-call support.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Healthcare Administration.
- Certified in Medication Administration.
- Experience with electronic documentation and Medicaid billing.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
