Under general supervision is responsible for maintaining dockets; preparing court documents; coordinating court appearances; administering oaths; preparing testing orders; performing high volume of data entry; answering questions; maintaining cases; calculates jail time credit; and performs related duties as required.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Coordinates appearance of parties and maintains hearing, jury and non-jury trial daily dockets Prepares and issues legal documents which may include court orders, judgments, warrants, HIV Aids testing orders, or requests for psychiatric examinations Determines appropriate documents to present to the Judge in order to facilitate a determination of guilt and/or sentencing Administers oaths for parties involved in individual cases Responsible for notifying the Department of Public Safety of all DWI and drug convictions Performs data entry of all court proceedings and court orders including appeal information Provides clear, concise and accurate information to the judge, general public and law enforcement officials in person and by telephone regarding court procedures Responsible for overseeing intake and proper records management of all documents involved in case Calculates jail time credit used in determining proper release date of defendants to the Texas Department of Corrections Arranges courtroom procedure while maintaining order in the courtroom; Notifies defendants of their options and responsibilities Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
