BGSF is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead.
The position of Quality Assurance (QA) Lead is responsible for Quality Assurance strategy development and execution. This role sits in the Project Management Office (PMO) in the IT Department. This person should have strong expertise in QA strategy, best practices, processes, and procedures; and should be skilled in communicating these to an organization in a way that ensures quality and consistency in delivery of software and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish service quality awareness, best practices, and improvements within the Quality Assurance practice.
- Develop, execute, and oversee procedures, policies, and related training plans within the organization.
- Facilitate performance reviews of IT services to ensure all stakeholders are receiving value.
- Develop and leverage quality monitoring data to monitor the overall health of the program and to address key signals of performance gaps and risk mitigation.
- Identify programmatic and performance deficiencies, recommend corrective actions and drive to completion.
- Develop action plans to reduce or eliminate root cause issues and improve operational performance.
- Leverage strong presentation and communication skills to lead conversations, both written and verbal at all levels of the organization both internally and externally to drive improvements across all QA metrics.
- Provide regular quality reports and trend analysis to senior leadership and make recommendations that will ensure adherence to compliance and improve customer experience.
- Continually improve the Quality Assurance Program across teams for both in-house and outsourced teams (which includes creating standardized processes and workflows, QA frameworks and guidelines, revamping QA Scorecards, etc.).
- Participate in formal reviews of business requirements and application designs.
- Create a Test Strategy, which includes test plans, test cases, test data using test management software to ensure requirements coverage and establish a traceability matrix.
- Estimate test efforts, design, document, manage and execute test case sets, analyze and communicate test results in a reportable metrics format.
- Continuously maintain and update test assets.
- Implement testing entrance and exit criteria, identify and manage critical paths during testing.
- Champion and adhere to QA test practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt and learn quickly with multiple testing tools.
Experience/Educational Requirements
- Minimum 5 yrs. experience as a QA Test Lead (or similar title) that demonstrates QA practice leadership and strategy development and execution.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Solid understanding of software testing best practices.
- Solid understanding of testing methodology, methods, levels, and testing types.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, and impeccable executive presence.
- Experience with multiple QA software tools (i.e. Microsoft Test Manager, HP Quality Center, ALM, ADO)
- Solid understanding of defect lifecycle
- Ability to perform simple database queries
- Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliverables and to juggle competing priorities.
- Experience working in an IT environment with formal governance processes
Experience/Education
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Test Manager and ADO
- Experience working in an industry with government regulations and guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, Business, Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of electric utility operations
- Experience with Oracle Systems, specifically Oracle C2M, MDM, and OUTA.
